See I don't know when pokemon started taking itself too seriously...maybe when the legendary pokemon stopped being just extremely rare and powerful pokemon and became gods from beyond time and space...but I booted up the game and was immediately repulsed. Below is the opening cinematic to Pokemon White. Apparently pokemon white is about the Illuminati (poke-nati?) finding a new pope and the hero is a kid with a Rubik's cube necklace. The bad guy I assume to be the one with the laser-eyepiece, and it looks like the pokemon-to-melodrama ratio will be decidedly low this time!
I had to turn the game off for a while after seeing this...there's only so much I can handle at once.
